Our Sexual Health (STI) Testing & Treatment service offers comprehensive screening and treatment services for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
At Bath Avenue Medical Centre, we understand the importance of maintaining good sexual health. STIs are a growing concern, and unfortunately, increasingly common, and we aim to provide our patients with the best possible care. Happily, in the majority of cases an STI can be diagnosed and treated with the minimum fuss and ensuring the highest levels of discretion and professionalism. Our STI screening costs €180 and includes a full consultation with one of our experienced and highly qualified doctors, who will discuss your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and provide you with a personalised screening and treatment plan.
Our STI consultation, examination and screening tests for a range of infections, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and HIV. These tests are quick and painless and involve taking a small sample of blood or urine, and sometimes a swab with a soft cotton bud (q-tip). Our doctors will provide you with your results as soon as they are available, usually within a few days.
If you test result is positive for an STI, try not to worry at first. We offer a range of treatments, including antibiotics and antiviral medications, which can help to clear the infection and prevent further complications. Our doctors will provide you with all the information you need to manage your condition and will work with you to develop a treatment plan that suits your individual needs.
In cases where a specialist hospital second opinion is required, this can be arranged promptly, efficiently and discretely in your preference of a public or independent clinical setting.
We also offer a range of services to support your sexual health and wellbeing, including contraceptive advice and family planning services. Our doctors can provide you with information on a range of contraceptive options, including the pill, condoms, and IUDs, and can help you to choose the method that’s right for you.
