What is Diaphragm Fitting?

Diaphragm Fitting is a non-hormonal form of birth control that involves fitting a diaphragm, a small, dome-shaped cup made of silicone, latex or natural rubber, over the cervix (neck of the womb), inside the vagina. The diaphragm covers the cervix, preventing sperm from entering the uterus and fertilising the egg. A diaphragm can be inserted up to 24 hours before sexual intercourse, and it must remain in place for at least six hours after intercourse.
